Ultra Epoxy floors can be effectively maintained using routine housekeeping measures. Thorough sweeping and mopping with standard household detergents or soaps, followed by thorough rinsing, are essential to prevent finish damage caused by minute abrasive particles commonly found in work areas. It is crucial to swiftly eliminate grease and other contaminants to prevent premature flooring deterioration. The seamless nature of Ultra Epoxy floors makes them easier to maintain compared to other resilient flooring types, as there are no cracks or crevices to trap contaminants.

Ultra Epoxy flooring systems showcase excellent resistance to wear and abrasion. Over time, high-traffic areas may become more noticeable. However, you can restore Ultra Epoxy flooring systems to their original appearance by cleansing and resealing with the appropriate finish. Maintenance

 

Daily Care

  • Regularly sweep and mop the floor with common household detergents or soaps, followed by thorough rinsing, to prevent finish damage from minute abrasive particles commonly found in work areas.

  • Utilize treated mops to effectively remove abrasive particles.

  • Swiftly remove grease and other contaminants.

  • Promptly rinse off any chemical solutions that may harm the surface.

Weekly Care

  • Routinely mop all Ultra Epoxy flooring systems with neutral detergents or soaps and thoroughly rinse. Change water frequently and rinse mops often.

  • Smooth floors are easily cleaned using this method, except in high-traffic areas with steel or hard rubber wheels that might leave marks requiring extra attention. Non-skid surfaces may also resist ordinary mopping. For severe spills or major contamination, special cleaning protocols may be necessary.

Problematic Areas Severe problem areas can be ad​dressed as follows:

  • Greasy deposits are best treated with Tri-sodium phosphate or a commonly available biodegradable solvent.

  • Promptly remove dairy products to avoid staining on certain surfaces.

  • Thoroughly scrub tire marks with a stiff bristle brush using the same biodegradable solvent mentioned above.

  • When tackling stubborn dirt or stains, allow the cleanser to sit a bit longer on the problem area before rinsing thoroughly with clean water.

  • Rinse strong chemicals from the floor surface as soon as possible.

 

Polishing and Protecting

Ultra Epoxy flooring systems do not require waxing or polishing. However, if wear areas emerge in high-traffic locations, you may choose to enhance the finish by polishing with a standard commercial product.

 

Renewing and Refinishing

Ultra Epoxy flooring systems are designed to withstand heavy wear and tear. Should visible wear occur in high-traffic areas, consider resealing the floor. Before applying any permanent material:

  • Remove all wax and other contaminants. A light surface sanding is recommended.

  • Consult your Ultra Epoxy representative to determine the suitable sealer compatible with the existing floor.

  • Follow the instructions provided by Ultra Epoxy for preparation and re-coating of the surface.

 

Conductive and Electro-static Dissipating Systems

Regularly maintain conductive and electro-static dissipating flooring systems in a clean, film-free condition to maintain floor effectiveness. Using harsh detergents that may harm the finish or improper rinsing resulting in residue can adversely affect the floor's performance. Softeners may be necessary if hard water is used to prevent scum.

Best Practices:

  • Perform initial cleaning before use and exercise caution during equipment installation.

  • Regularly clean the floor.

  • Consider more frequent maintenance in heavily trafficked areas (e.g., entrances) with high levels of grit, dirt, and wear.

  • Swiftly clean up spillages.

  • Promptly remove oil and grease using an aqueous solution of alkaline detergent.

  • Increase cleaning and maintenance in areas prone to accidental contamination by chemicals or bacteriological or radioactive materials.

  • Use high-quality equipment.

  • Regularly clean cleaning equipment.

  • Follow manufacturers' instructions for chemicals and equipment.

Avoidances:

  • Avoid using excessive concentrations of cleaning agents beyond the manufacturer's recommended dosage, as it can be wasteful, costly, and potentially harmful.

  • Do not mix cleaning chemicals and agents, as it can be harmful.

  • Do not use solvents.

  • Avoid using synthetic scrubbing pads on textured resin floor finishes, as it may quickly damage the pads.

  • Avoid phenol-based cleaning chemicals, as they may degrade resin floor surfaces.
